The fact that the NDR co-production ‘Reeperbahn Spezialeinheit FD65’ was also awarded a Hamburg producer’s prize for German television productions proves once again that good television also thrives on good films. With the NDR Young Talent Award we want to support young artists and encourage them to continue producing high-quality films in the future. NDR Intendant Joachim Knuth said: “High-quality cinema films offer space for social discourse. “The closeness, distance and respect that Nicot maintains for each individual character always gives the viewer the opportunity to engage with the very moving and demanding subject matter like a satellite.” The jury went on to follow the emotional life of the very engaging Zelda Samson in the title role, as well as the rest of the great ensemble in the great cinema film, almost in a documentary way. Zelda Samson plays the lead role of 12-year-old Dalva in Emmanuelle Nicot’s debut film of the same name.Įmmanuelle Nicot tells the story with emotional poignancy and psychological precision, without ever embarrassing a character.
